You can trust that each jar is every bit as genuine as the creation inside it. Canning Tip: Safely and easily handle hot jars and lids, fill jars and measure headspace, and remove air bubbles. Preparation: Wash lids in hot, soapy water. Rinse well. Set aside until ready for use. Using Lids: Fill your jar according to recipe's instructions. Wipe food from rims of jars. Center new lids on jars, apply bands and adjust until fit is fingertip tight. Place filled jars into canner, process according to recipe's instructions. Checking the seals: After processing, allow jars to cool for 12-24 hours before checking seals. Ensure lids are sealed. Press center of lid. Lid should not flex up and down when pressed. Remove band and try to lift off lid. Lid is sealed if it cannot be easily removed. Store sealed jar in pantry for up to a year.
